The 2019 New York Encounter, themed Something to Start From, will take place from February 15 to 17, at the Metropolitan Pavilion, 125 West 18th Street in Manhattan. The Encounter is a three-day, free, cultural event organized by a member of Communion and Liberation, consisting of panel discussions, artistic performances, and unique exhibits. This year’s Encounter will feature a presentation on Pope Francis’ vision for a new evangelization with Fr. Julián Carrón, President of the Fraternity of Communion and Liberation; Austen Ivereigh, Writer and Journalist; and Cardinal Sean O’Malley, Archbishop of Boston. Another highlight: The Life of Servant of God, Chiara Corbella, presented by her husband Enrico. Chiara died at age 28 of a rare cancer that was discovered while she was pregnant with her third child. She chose to give birth to Francesco, rejecting any treatment that could have saved her but endangered the life of her unborn son. These events and many others can be found at newyorkencounter.org. All are invited!
